Consumer Inflation and Industrial Production

Yesterday, the government report on wholesale price inflation, today it’s consumer inflation. The government reported that consumer prices rose 0.4% last month. Excluding food and energy, the CPI rose just 0.1%. This means that the real problem is with wholesale inflation.

The other news was the industrial production rose 0.8% last month, which is very good. The gain for July was also revised higher to 1% from 0.5%.
