Preview for the Week Ahead on Wall Street

This will be another important week for earnings. Wall Street is also gearing up for Friday’s GDP report which will be our first look at how well the economy did last quarter.

On Monday, Amgen (AMGN), Corning (GLW), Honeywell (HON) and Verizon (VZ) all report quarterly results. We’ll also get a key report on new-homes sales for June.

On Tuesday, there will be important reports on consumer confidence and the S&P/Case-Shiller housing index. Plus, Norfolk Southern (NSC), Teva Pharmaceutical Industries (TEVA) and Panera Bread (PNRA) are on tap to report earnings.

On Wednesday, Deutsche Bank (DB), General Dynamics (GD), Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR), Sturm Ruger (RGR) and Express Scripts (ESRX) are due to report. The Fed will also release its beige-book economic survey, plus there will be the report on durable-goods orders.

On Thursday, we’ll get a report on jobless claims. There will also be earnings from ExxonMobil (XOM), Kellogg (K), Motorola (MOT) and Disney (D).

Finally on Friday, the government will release the second-quarter GDP report. Graham (GHM), Chevron (CHV), Constellation Energy (CEG) and Washington Post (WPO) will also report earnings.
