The Week Ahead on Wall Street

This week is going to be all about earnings. Today, we’re going to get earnings reports from Charles Schwab (SCHW) and St. Jude Medical (STJ).

Tomorrow we’ll get reports from Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), Goldman Sachs (GS) and Intel (INTC). There will also be important reports on retail sales and wholesale inflation. There have been a few bright spots in the economy so it will be interesting to see if there’s more evidence to confirm a trend.

On Wednesday, the government reports on consumer inflation for March, plus there will be reports on industrial production and the Fed releases its Beige Book report. Most importantly, tax returns are due!

On Thursday, more earnings are coming including Google (GOOG), Harley-Davidson (HOG), Baxter International (BAX), Southwest Airlines (LUV) and JPMorgan Chase (JPM). There will also be a report on initial jobless claims and I expect to see more bad news.

On Friday, General Electric (GE) and Citigroup (C) report. Plus, Ben Bernanke will speak at a conference on financial services for the underserved.
