You’re heard me talk a lot recently about why I think the dollar is headed for a big fall. Here’s an excellent graph showing why I’m so bearish on the greenback. This shows the growth of federal debt held by foreign investors.
What this means is that the amount of money we’re borrowing from people outside our borders has exploded in recent years–and thanks to the spending spree is Washington, this trend will continue to grow.
Up till now, the world has been willing to lend to us. Now that our rates are at rock-bottom levels, the party is coming to an end. Soon investors are going to take their money and look for better deals elsewhere. As a result, the dollar will fall.
